Ingredients: Natural Sea Salts (10.5mg/ml), Purified Water.
Bottle size 20ml, 140 metered doses.Why
is the Nasal Spa® Spray different from other nasal sprays?
Firstly, the Nasal
Spa® Spray Spray contains natural sea salts and
purified water, nothing else. The careful manufacturing
process ensures that all the sea salt minerals are preserved.
Secondly, the Nasal Spa® Spray does not have any preservatives as
it is filled in a bottle with a patented spray head (actuator).
The unique spray, which contains a silver filter, prevents
the contamination of the product inside the bottles. From
first use, you have 6 months to use the solution before
contamination might occur.
Most nasal sprays contain preservatives,
the most common being used is Benzalkonium Chloride, which
can have adverse long-term effects on the nasal mucosa.
For instance, decongestant nasal sprays that contain the
active ingredient oxymetazoline and the preservative benzalkonium
chloride can lead to increased nasal stuffiness and addiction,
which is why nasal decongestant nasal sprays should not
be used for more than 10 days.
If you have been using a
nasal decongestant spray for a prolonged period and you
stop using it, you may experience ‘rebound congestion’ (rhinitis
medicamentosa), which might be worse than when you first
started using your decongestion spray. This symptom is typical
– please don’t be tempted to use your decongestant spray
again – this will only make it more difficult for you to
stop using your decongestant spray. Our best advice is to
get over the temporary phase of increased congestion by
using the Nasal Spa® Spray (or any other natural spray)
as often as you can. Within a few days, your symptoms should
improve – just be persistent.
Some nasal sprays used for
nasal allergies contain corticosteroids (beclometasone,
betamethasone, budesonide, flunisolide, fluticasone, mometasone)
and "have a useful role in the prophylaxis and treatment
of allergic rhinitis (British National Formulary)", however,
their side-effects can be: nasal dryness, irritation of
the nose and throat, nose-bleed and ulceration (rare), nasal
septal perforation, headache, smell and taste disturbance
and hypersensitivity.
Who can use the Nasal Spa® Spray?
The Nasal Spa® Spray is suitable for children, adults and
during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It is also ideal for
athletes, builders, chemical & wood workers, commuters,
office staff, scuba-divers, air-travel and for hot & dry
climates.
Can I use the Nasal Spa® Spray with my other medication?

If you are on a low sodium diet, there is no need to worry,
as the Nasal Spa® Spray contains an isotonic solution and
does not cause any imbalance.
How often can I use the Nasal Spa® Spray?
As the Nasal Spa® Spray contains an isotonic
natural sea salt solution, it can be used as often as required
and for as long as you wish to.
Where do the sea salts come from?
Seawater is taken off the northern coast of Brittany,
near the Brehat archipelago, 40 miles southwest of Jersey,
as this area is considered to be clean and far away from
industrial activity thus limiting contamination and accidental
pollution.
The seawater is then filtered and a toxicology
analysis carried out to ensure there are no heavy metals
in the batch, before dehydration commences.
In order to
prevent degradation of the salt, a special technique - spray
drying - is used to obtain the precious ingredient. During
the spray drying procedure, the water evaporates very quickly,
with each droplet drying before reaching the chamber walls.
The powder is then collected at the outlet of the chamber
and used for the next stage of the production.
